Sacraments
Sacraments are celebrated in the contents of the Parish Community. They are an integral part of the growth and spirituality of young catholic individuals.

First Reconciliation

First Reconciliation is celebrated in the fall semester for grade two students. Parents provide the immediate preparation through the home experience using “Celebrating Faith First Reconciliation”. A schedule and resources are provided at the opening parent meeting.
Shepherd Day is a Saturday morning retreat for parents and students in preparation to celebrate the Sacrament. The morning consists of prayer, activities, role modeling, etc. The format for the sacrament is provided here.

First Eucharist
First Eucharist is celebrated in the spring semester after Easter. Parents provide the immediate preparation through the home experience. Materials and schedule are given at the Opening Parent meeting. Families help make the child’s First Eucharist banner.
Jesus Day Retreat is held one week
prior to celebrating the Sacrament. Parents and children gather with bread and
beverage to share in the meaning of bread in our lives and Eucharist. Gathering
social is hosted by Grandparents of the First Communicants. The morning is
spent in the final preparation to receive Jesus for the first time through
prayer, activities, making of their bread symbol, etc.

Sun. April 18, 2004 First Eucharist at 10:30 AM
Confirmation
Confirmation is celebrated the
fall semester of the 8th Grade. The immediate preparation of
this Sacrament of Initiation is held on five to six Sunday afternoons for
candidates and or sponsor and parents. The parish guide booklet is available,
“Be Led by the Spirit” which gives the directives for the process.

Service is one major component of Confirmation preparation: Sponsors and Candidates participate in a three to four hours Evangelization Share Project and complete a sheet.
